I just recently bought a '96 Savage. Today was my first long
road trip with two buddies. They have Harleys, and everytime
I would start mine they would laugh (lawnmower sound to them the stock
muffler I guess).
But the performance was good. They are a bit speedier then I like
but we cruised for 160 miles today, average speed was 70 mph.
I had no difficulty keeping up, it handled nicely, my butt even is not
sore - stock seat too!
My only complaint is ... me. My neck and lower back are sore. But the bike was a champ.
I imagine other bikes might be more comfortable for you, depends on height, weight, and riding
style...but I like the way the Savage handled and rode all in all.
